• Alabama ACEP

Alabama ACEP is the local chapter of national ACEP, the American College of Emergency Physicians. Alabama ACEP exists to support the availability of high-quality emergency medical services to all patients within the state of Alabama, and to advocate for our members, our patients and our specialty.

Founded in 1975, the chapter actively represents more than 250 emergency physicians, residents and medical students working at hospitals throughout Alabama. Alabama ACEP is a diverse and democratic organization that promotes and preserves the integrity and independence of emergency medicine.

We are actively involved in a wide range of issues that matter to emergency physicians and our patients, including ongoing legislation in Montgomery, public health and safety, and disaster preparedness and response. As a member of Alabama ACEP, you are making sure your voice is heard by state lawmakers. You are also learning about issues that affect you and your patients and you are contributing to the advancement of your specialty.

Alabama ACEP is the proud home of the International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) program, a global organization dedicated to preventing death and disability from trauma through education and emergency trauma care. Founded in 1985 as Basic Trauma Life Support International, ITLS now has over 85 chapters and training centers in over 35 countries around the world. Through ITLS, over 350,000 trauma care professionals have learned proven techniques endorsed by ACEP. Click here for more information.
